President’s Quarterly Newsletter

Dear Members

As I am sure you are aware, we have had a very warm winter at Indian Lake Estates this year. It has also been very quiet in our community with very few residents present. The good news from this is the Club’s expenses have been less than budgeted. Very little has been spent on snow removal – so far! Utility cost and repair cost concerning our water system are less than anticipated – so far!

Dave Crocker and the roads committee are making plans for our spring paving. The plan is to do the paving in early April. Susan Sciullo, our Treasurer, is reviewing the budget to see if some of the funds that were initially earmarked for snow removal can be moved to the paving project. There is approximately $32k presently in the paving budget. The paving this spring will be concentrated on Indian Lake Road beyond the Hollar’s property but not limited to that stretch of road. If you have any concerns or suggestions concerning the paving project, direct them to the road committee.

Have you paid your assessment(s) yet? If not, please contact Susan Sciullo to make payment or to set up a payment plan. Any properties whose assessments are in arrears with no payment plan will soon be liened. Your Board understands that these are lean times for many of you and we will do all we can to work with you.

At your Board of Directors’ Meeting in February we voted to go to an every other month schedule for Board Meetings. The Board will meet each even-numbered month. In addition we will hold a Board Meeting after the Annual Meeting of Members in September. Hopefully, the reduced number of Board Meetings will encourage more Club members to serve on the Board.

In closing, we hope to see you at Indian Lake Estates. If the weather continues the way it has been so far this year, it will not be too long before we are able to begin our Wednesday evening gatherings at the Waterfront Park. Hope to see you there!!
