Indian Lake Club, Inc. Indian Lake Estates
President’s Newsletter January 2024

Greetings Everyone in ILC – We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and that you have a joyous New Year. There continues to be development in our community. The house on Indian Lake Road is nearing completion and there is a new home under construction on Cherokee Circle. Several lots have sold over the last 12 months.

We plan to begin several maintenance projects in January. This month, Pisgah Paving will start shoulder repair on Cherokee Circle plus installation of a drainage culvert just past the Pullen property. The asphalt plant is scheduled to reopen in April at which time we will complete the paving for Cherokee Circle and Indian Lake Road. Toxaway Grading is scheduled to repair the washout on Indian Lake Road in mid-February.

We are still waiting for approval from the state to begin repairs to Indian Lake Dam. John Pappas has been pursuing a FEMA grant to help cover a portion of these repairs. The paperwork and documentation have been daunting but John has been relentless in his pursuit to get this done.

We are also looking at a system to help monitor our water system. Monitoring would include daily water usage, potential leaks, and temperature monitoring in our well houses. Now that we have fiber internet system installed in our community, this data for monitoring can be sent via the internet.

Boyd McNeely is scheduled to erect a locust wood rail fence in our waterfront park in early Spring. The fence will run between the picnic tables and the lower seating area.

We are looking forward to beginning our Wednesday night get togethers in
early Spring and as we get closer to the Spring and Summer season, we will
keep everyone up to date as to when these activities will start.
