Nominate Board of Director Candidates

When you were looking for a place to escape to North Carolina, you chose Indian Lake Estates for a
reason. This is a fabulous community. It’s interactive, well taken care of and a wonderful place to live.
This does not happen by accident. It is the work of its members that make ILE a great place to be a part
of whether you are a full-time resident, a part time resident or a visitor.

Your current Board of Directors is going through some changes. John Pappas, who has been on the
Board for 12 years and headed up and completed the repairs on the dam is not seeking a new term on
the Board. Additionally, after 12 years of working on various committees and holding positions of
Treasurer and Current President, I also am not seeking another term. In our newsletter last month, I
indicated we need members to do their part and become part of the working Board. As of this date, we
have not received any emails or bios from members willing to take our place and learn the workings of
our community from its current Board members. Many of our older members have lived in ILE for
many years and have already held positions on the Board.

There is also a need for the Chair of Beautification. This is a position that is not a Board member, but
one who is in charge of keeping our community tidy with tasks such as cleaning of the mirrors and street
signs, working on our community park and getting volunteers together so we can all be a part of what
makes us a great and a sought-after place to live. In conjunction with Parks and Parties you have a
budget to work with and report to the Board.

Without additional members stepping up, the work of the Board becomes a heavy burden on those that
are currently serving. The current Board is a great team to work with. They are diligent, invested and
will work with you as you get established on the Board. It is a three-year term and many find it
enjoyable enough to serve many terms. Without new Board members we will be forced to seek a
management company to assist with the running of our community. This does not come cheap.
You do not have to be a full-time resident to be on the Board. Our meetings are currently done on zoom
or by telephone call in. If you are willing and able to serve your community, please send your Bio to
Dean Argentine at iueyedoc1@gmail.com. Please consider being a part of our working community.

Have a great July 4th weekend and thank you to
Parks and Parties for the beautiful decorations at the park, you did an awesome job! Well done.
