Weather
Summer has arrived in the mountains, along with a lot of rain. The rain has slowed the production of wild berries and other menu items for the bears. We have several which have been spotted in our community. Do not leave food stuffs laying around or you may have unexpected company on your deck.
Neighborhood Security
As many of our residents are seasonal it is up to our year-round residents to please keep an eye on those homes and report any suspicious activity to the sheriff’s office (911) and then to our Neighborhood Watch, John McClung @ (352) 232-3411. We all benefit when we watch out for each other.
Good Neighbors
Many of us enjoy walking the roads during the Summer season so please watch your speed in the community. Part of being a good neighbor is respecting the covenants and regulations of the community. If you are planning any major work, we would appreciate you running those changes by the Architectural Control Committee.
Dam Repairs
A survey will be completed shortly and will help us in our negotiations with the state. We will keep you posted as this continuing saga unfolds.
Fire Dept.
Our Lake Toxaway Volunteer Fire Department has been upgraded from a Class 7 to a Class 5. Contact your homeowner’s insurance company and you should get a rate reduction.
Events
The Wednesday Gatherings have been well attended and many residents have stepped up to offer their houses when raining. If it is dry we hope to see you at the Lakeside Park between 5 and 7 pm. Bring a dish to share and your beverage of choice.
The Labor Day Party will be at 1:00pm on Sunday, September 2nd. The
Beautification Committee will furnish pulled pork from Hog Wild for the entrée;
please bring a dish to share and your beverage of choice.
The Annual Meeting will be at 10:00am on Saturday September 8th at the Lake
Toxaway Fire Department, 850 Blue Ridge Road. We hope to see you all there.
