Weather
Spring is here and our rains are back. Some of these rains have been accompanied by major winds. Please check on your vacant neighbors’ homes for damage after any of these storms. Last Monday’s (May 1, 2017) winds brought down many large limbs and at least one tree in the community.
Good Neighbors
Along with watching out for each other’s homes, let’s also watch out for each other by checking our speed in the community. As winter ends some will want to complete old projects or start new ones. Please respect the covenants and regulations of the community by running these projects by our Architectural Control Committee, chaired by Michael Gould.
Safety and noise are also issues which affect us all. Although it is not illegal to discharge a firearm in Transylvania County (within very specific guidelines), doing so in the community is discouraged by your Board of Directors. As safe as we try to be, accidents do happen and those involving firearms can be severe. The noise level can be not only disturbing but also can be very unsettling to many of our residents. We ask that you respect each other in this matter.
Dam Repairs
We are still waiting on the State but we are on the list for consideration. Due to the uncertainty of this upcoming expense, no road work is scheduled for this year.
Water System
The water tank at the well by the lake has been replaced and all the associated equipment is being updated now. Hopefully the work and inspections will be complete in the next few weeks and it will be back on line. Please continue to conserve water during this time period.
Waterfront Wednesdays
The Wednesday gatherings at our Waterfront Park will begin; weather permitting, on Wed. May 17,2017 at 5:00 pm. Please bring a dish to share and the beverage of your choice. It’s always a great time to meet our new residents and rekindle old relationships.
The Memorial Day gathering will be held on Sunday, May 28-2017 at 1:00 pm, invitation will arrive via e-mail.
