Weather
SPRING has arrived in the mountains. Although April was a bit cold May is starting out to be beautiful. The leaves are coming back to the trees, flowers are blooming, and the critters are scurrying everywhere. Remember that some of those critters will be bears. Do not leave food stuffs lying around or you may have unexpected company on your deck.
Neighborhood Security
As many of our residents are seasonal it is up to our year-round residents to please keep an eye on those homes and report any suspicious activity to the sheriff’s office (911) and then to our Neighborhood Watch, John McClung @ (352) 232-3411. We all benefit when we watch out for each other.
Good Neighbors
Many of us enjoy walking the roads during the spring season so please watch your speed in the community. Part of being a good neighbor is respecting the covenants and regulations of the community. If you are planning any major work, we would appreciate you running those changes by the Architectural Control Committee.
Dam Repairs
We have an engineer helping us with the state. We will keep you posted as this continuing saga unfolds.
Real Estate
We have 2 more houses which have sold since the February newsletter and another closing soon.
Allen Dermody has purchased the house at 419 Indian Lake Road and is a full-time resident.
Libby and Sean Sowers have purchased the house at 47 Thunderbird Lane; they also have a home in Charlotte, NC.
Ed and Marie Mettle will be closing on the house at 221 Cherokee Circle in the 1st week of June.
Please welcome these new residents and their families to our community.
Fire Dept.
Our Lake Toxaway Volunteer Fire Department has been upgraded from a Class 7 to a Class 5. Contact your homeowners insurance company and you should get a rate reduction.
