Drive Slowly
Please remember to observe our speed limit while driving, especially during the busy season (now). With the foliage and curves, our roads are not meant for speeds exceeding 20 mph. Please be courteous to residents and guests.
Neighborhood Watch
We have added a new Neighborhood Watch sign in a prominent location near the entrance. Please continue to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Police. The Board of Directors has decided not to install security cameras at the present time, but encourages residents to install alarm systems in their home. Please secure doors and windows to discourage unwanted visitors. Direct any questions to John McClung, who is in charge of our Neighborhood Watch.
Welcome to the Community
We welcome new lot owners Phillip & Michelle Davis who purchased Lot 2, Section 10, on Indian Lake Road, and Mark Gilbert and Janet Morin who purchased Lot 4, Section 6, on Rainbow’s End. Melba Hernandez and her parents also purchased Lot 16, Section 2, on Indian Lake Road.
Home Improvements
We take pride in our homes and community. Home improvements and maintenance reflect our values. Please notify the Architectural Control Committee Chairperson, Aleta Tisdale, of any plans to make improvements and changes (such as painting or replacing your roof) with regard to your house, deck, yard or lot. You may not be required to file plans under the Regulations, but we will be pleased to advise you if it is required, and good communication is certainly appreciated by your neighbors.
Please check our website for the most current Architectural Control Regulations. See https://indianlakeclubinc.com/ile-info/by-laws-other-documents/architectural-control-regulations/
Roads
Road Paving will begin on Monday, July 27. Equipment will be staged on Monday and paving will begin late Monday or early Tuesday. It is estimated the paving will be completed by the end of the week, weather permitting. A notice has been issued today to the community stating the areas to be paved.
Burn Permits
Please note that burning to clear a lot is not permitted. Any other burning is subject to obtaining a Burn Permit from Transylvania County. http://ncforestservice.gov/burn_permits/burn_standard.asp
Under these regulations, open burning is not permitted if it is less than 250 feet from a roadway.
Dam Repairs
Working with our Engineering Firm, we have responded to the questions from NCDENR regarding the Dam Repairs. The plan has been modified accordingly, and we are now waiting for approval from DCDENR before contracting the work.
Waterfront Wednesdays
With warm weather here, residents are invited to join the weekly gathering on Wednesday at 5:00pm at the Waterfront Park. Bring a dish to share and a beverage of your choice. Weather permitting, of course.
Website
Our revised and updated website, www.indianlakeclubinc.com provides much information about our community. Residents who would like to post real estate listings including rentals are welcome to do so. Please contact Everett Bedenbaugh, our webmaster.
Board Meetings
Our next Board Meeting is scheduled for 8:00am Saturday August 8, 2015 at the Firehouse. Residents are invited to attend, and participate. It is not necessary to attend at 8:00 am, residents can address the Board as long as they contact us in advance to schedule a time.
Finally, our Annual Meeting is scheduled for Saturday September 12 at 10:00 am, again at the Firehouse. Ballots and the Budget will be sent in advance. We look forward to seeing you there.
